Pre-Departure

Hello blogging world! My mother suggested that I make a blog so friends and family can see my adventures while I am studying abroad for the semester and voila! A few clicks and about 30 minutes of playing around with this and I have created my own blog.  My plan as of now is to update this blog at least once a week with updates on my travels, studies, and things I find interesting enough to share.

So here are some details about my upcoming semester.  I will be leaving January 23 and flying from Phoenix to Philadelphia and then Philadelphia to Manchester.  I will then head to Leeds (about an hour from Manchester) once in Leeds I plan to get settled in my flat and enjoy a week of activities planned for international students by the University.  Classes begin on January 30th!  While I am on the other side of the Atlantic I want to do a LOT of traveling.  I have been reading lots of books and so far I know I definitely want to visit Paris, Greece, Ireland (St. Patricks Day!!), Scotland (to hunt down my Scottish ancestors and the Loch Ness monster), Denmark, Prague, Austria, and Spain! Hopefully I will be able to visit all of them as well as travel around Great Britain; so far I hope to visit Bath, Liverpool, Wales, London, Stratford Upon-Avon, Stonhenge, and the Lake District. I am so excited to be abroad for a semester and experience a different culture.  After I graduate from NAU I hope to live abroad so this semester will be a preview to see if it is something I really want to do.
